Project Hytruck
The hybrid city transport vehicle of the future (completed)

The Hytruck city transport vehicle
Project Hytruck is a fully electric city distribution vehicle equipped with two TheWheel™ SM500/1 motors, Li-Ion batteries and hydrogen power stack. The first Hytruck was delivered in November 2007 and the prospect for this vehicle is very positive.
Technology in the HyTruck
As shown below e-Traction re-engineered the rear axle of the vehicle to fit two SM500/1 AL TheWheel™ motors. These motors deliver a peak torque of 3250Nm each while being extremely energy efficient.
Two SM500/1 wheels mounted onto the truckAs a battery system Li-Ion batteries by Valence were chosen. These batteries act as a continuous buffer between motor and hydrogen pack. More information can be found on our battery information section.
Nedstack delivered a hydrogen energy pack while the Hydrogen itself is stored between the chassis bars for optimum safety.

Rear view of the truckAfter been test driven and prepared for its public debut the Hytruck was transported to the customer Hytruck B.V. in anticipation of The European Road Transport Show 2007 in the RAI in Amsterdam on October 25th 2007, where it received the (TERTS) Innovation Award 2007.
More information can be found on the site of Hytruck.
